day 325

The cool thing about turning 24 is that there are more candles to put on the cake and lots of candles looks really pretty! This morning was just great! there was good pancakes, good conversation and good people. I seemed to have mellowed out since working more with kids because Wirra, a three year old, decided to pick up every single one of my rubiks cubes and mess them up. All I did was stand behind him and twitch. I didnt yell or snatch or drag him by the ear away from my precious babies. Big improvement!

day 324

Its Faithtastics birthday tomorrow! I am throwing her a breakfast party. Today I spent the morning getting owned in soccer and then the whole afternoon in the kitchen baking lots of lovely gluten and dairy free treats! I am so excited for tomorrow that I should go to bed now so tomorrow comes sooner.

day 323

Everyday i'm shuffling! what better to do on a saturday afternoon than shred up the loungeroom with some sick dance moves? For optimal viewing of this photo I suggest you play the song 'Party rock' in the background.

day 322

Ah debs. How archaic are they? The presentation of young marriagable virgins to society. Its a chance to wear a pretty white dress without having to marry anyone though, so debs are ok by me. this photo has Amber in it. Amber is a stunner. its a pity the photo doesnt have the full dress because I think its one of my favourites!

day 321

How Idyllic. What a great word, Idyllic. if you stare at it for too long then it looks super weird. Idyllic Idyllic Idyllic.
This is my treasured Vegie garden. It's come so far from when I first started working on it.

day 320

Power tools are possibly the greatest things ever! Today I let loose with a whipper snipper. I tell you what, drawing the line at not Whipper snippering the garden is incredibly difficult, Once I got started there was no stopping me! The other great power tool is a battery operated drill. Get me a drill and some screws and I will love you forever! haha did anyone elses mind just head to the gutter with surprising velocity?
now it did.

day 319

I did my first full rockclimbing briefing today. Im not sure how I managed to get out of it until third term but I finally bit the bullet and did one. Surprise surprise, I didnt die. Best part of the rockclimbing: A kid yelled "everyday im shuffling!" and then they all began to shuffle. Made my day!

day 318

So I am trying to think of something to say because once i've uploaded this mum's gonna give me a massage. I am having a total mind blank. There are more knots in my back than a dreadlock so now I am leaving.

day 317

This is my sisters deb dress. Isn't it gorgeous!? I love it. I think I am waaay too interested in wedding dresses. Last week I designed 4 wedding dresses.

Saturday, July 23, 2011

day 316

I can knock a matchbox over with my nose with nothing but my feet touching the floor. Its no mean feat. Its a fun thing to watch people try and do.

Friday, July 22, 2011

day 315

Tonight I went and saw Harry Potter for the second time. Not quite as bad as Shaun, who was there for the fourth time. I had a lovely evening and had a lot of Impromptu meetings with year 12 friends. Has anyone else noticed that the horcruxes make a really similar sound to the Tardis?

day 314

Its Pi day today!
I love soccer. It puts me in such a good mood. I was having a bad face day today, and I am running out of decent body parts to take photos of.

Wednesday, July 20, 2011

day 313

Don't count your chickens until they hatch. Today we were all set to go downhill skiing. Sadly, because of wind speed, we went up to the snow but didnt actually end up skiing. So to all the people that I obnoxiously bragged about my awesome job to, I got my comeuppence. 4 hours of windy driving and no skiing.
This photo features my awesome teaching crew, minus Owen, who was taking the picture, and Cav, who was chatting up some instructors (haha nah kidding.)

day 312

ahahaha what a splendid day! Firstly, I got paid to go skiing, that in and of itself is awesome! then I went out for thai and had the most fantastic conversation with my young adults crew. we now all have bruises on our face from nosediving into the gutter so many times during our conversation. great great night!

day 311

Emme is reading me her book at the moment. Its great, I hope it gets published one day. The skirt in this photo is called a yapa skirt. Yapa means sister. Emmeline got it for me when she went to Arnhem Land. Isn't it sweet? I love it.

day 310

Once upon a time there was a young girl who threw up, liked the taste and licked her lips for more. How disgusting.

day 309

Tonight Elise and I made Pizza for my family. They were delicious pizzas and a swell time was had by all until the rash decision was made to pay a visit to the local watering hole. In doing this deed we regretably left the cleaning up process to our remaining family members. For this I am truly sorry and I am unsure how to repay the people who cleaned up the mess that was assigned to me. Please dont treat me with resigned impatience tomorrow morning.
Earlier today Dad and I were cheerily painting the floor of the flat, its coming along nicely.

day 308

PRIVACY!!! I finally have some. up until today I didnt have any blinds in my bedroom so at night the whole world could see in. Its something I havent previously mentioned on this blog because its not a fact I really wanted the whole world to know. I helped dad ajdust and install the blinds today. I think I might go celebrate my new found privacy by dancing around my room in my underwear!

day 307

I am very happy. I love being happy. I think the weather may be contributing to this. Sunny days make me so cheery! There were two photos that I was tossing up between uploading today and I think I like the other one better but this one suits my mood a lot more. The dress I am wearing is actually a skirt that Jocelyn owns.

day 306

While I was navigating our way home I ended up in a gully (its ok it was all part of the plan) but in this gully was the most amazing tree root system I have ever seen. This is no exaggeration, its about 13 feet wide and and 9 feet high. maybe, im not sure. our enitre group could have stood in front of it and there would have been plenty to see around the edges. we didnt get a photo in front of it though because the ground looked solid enough but Kazz found out you actually sink calf deep in mud.

day 305

I nearly got devoured by bracken today! Thank goodness Pat was right behind me to rescue me when I was overpowered by them and threatened to disappear completely amidst their dominating cover. It was scary, im not gonna lie. I was navigating our way up a hill so steep that when its on the map the contour lines blur together. I had to physically rip my way through a mesh of shoulder high bracken, ferns and sword grass. At lunchtime a little leech decided to keep my company. We had a photoshoot together and then I decided it was time that we part ways.

day 304

In the valley of the green glass door there are trees but no leaves. there are streets but no lanes. there is greed but no money. what else lies in the valley of the green glass door?
That is the one and only riddle that I know. Hugh knows hundreds of them. Normally I resist riddles because they are stupid and irritate me because I cant get them within two minutes but today I fell victim to actually caring about figuring out the answer.

day 303

I got a leech in my mouth. Ergh! There is a sentence I was hoping I would never have to write! We orienteered today. Walking around chatting to someone is great. Finding a marker on an unknown tree somewhere in the middle of an unfamiliar forest does kinda suck! My poor toesies are going to cop a beating these next few days.

day 302

I feel like i've been run over by a truck. I have a raging cold and apparently tablecrawling is an extreme sport; I have so. many. bruises!

day 301

Today we participated in the best sport ever; tablecrawling!! It involves crawling around a table, which is harder that it sounds. Luke and I also tried some synchronised backflipping and midair planking. Fun fact: the the easiest way to break a neck is by planking on a trampoline.

Thursday, July 7, 2011

Day 300

DAY 300!! oh my where has the time gone? I only have 65 days left. Golly, im gonna start crying if I think about it too much. The crying could also be due to the fact that I am SOO tired from mountain bike riding! It was surprisingly fun, but I was so cold and grotty when I got home!
Note: this photo is not intended as art reflecting life.

day 299

I love mud. Its just one off those things that makes me really happy. when presented with a mud puddle, there would be very few occasions where I wouldnt want to roll around in it. Today when we were mountain bike riding there were a lot of really sludgy mud puddles. I had to keep telling myself that it is, in fact, not okay to roll in mud when you should be riding a bicycle up a stupid, quad killing, soul destroying incline.

day 298

lol jks! Its just a food baby. We had a roast for dinner tonight. Roast at Oma and Opa's is probably my favourite meal ever! For dessert we had lemon cake and for supper we will have Opa's famous iced chocolates, yum! Hopefully my tummy doesn't explode.

day 297

I just watched the Gen Y edition of QandA thanks to my grandparents recording it. It was great! It reminded me about the rush I get from debating things. QandA always makes me feel smart and dumb at the same time. This episode starred a woman named Samah Hadid; When I grow up, I want to be as articulate, smart and collected as her.
This photo is sort of linked. It is taken in Opa's study. Opa's study is one of my favourite rooms ever. when I was little I used to sleep in here when we came to visit. I used to pretend that his filing system was a cash register because I really wanted to be a check out chick. The world globe in the picture was given to me for two years while they were in Tonga. Opa told me to look after it for him. This is a really big deal because at that age I was considered highly irresponsible and had a habit of breaking everything I touched. I looked after that globe so carefully, and at the end of two years I gave it back unharmed. I also had memorised most of the countries and their geographical location. These days I come in here and just marvel at all the information that's stored in this tiny room.

day 296

"ok Cecelia, to get to the pitch you have to drive along..."
*two hot Italian exchange guys stand behind Thomas*
"...and turn and you are there. you understand?"
"uhhhh.... what?"
Thomas, being completely unaware of the boys, now thinks that I am a fairly thick girl because he had to tell me about three times where to go before it started to sink in.
Im not thick, I just have an automatic brain shut down when cute boys are nearby. So if I usually seem incredibly stupid, chances are you're cute.

day 295

Essendon beat Geelong! Im not really sure in what universe that is possible. Richmond lost by 103 points. Unfortunately I am depressingly familiar with that universe.

day 294

I have had a really great week this week! Last night I showed my tafe buddies the wonders of touch lamps. I had forgotton how much fun touch lamps can be.
