welcome to 2011! 1.1.11. Work was fairly entertaining this morning, there was lots of people who were up about 5 hours earlier than they wanted to be. Brian had a good old laugh at me about the steak incident last night. I put a hot plate on the table and it flipped off and the steak, chips, salad and gravy went crashing, via my knee and arm, to the floor. my mad reflexes caught the steak and some gravy which burnt my hand. I fled to the kitchen to rinse my hand and wallow in the humiliation I had just brought upon myself in the bar. This photo is dodgy proof of my visit to the pubs last night (see the stamp on my arm? tilt the screen upwards and you'll see). It was taken after midnight so it has to be today's photo.

day 112
I was rearing up for a great new years eve after working all morning when Sally BEGGED me to work at night. I obligied, however luckily for me we were super organised so I wasnt really needed at work. I got to go to my party anyway! it was a great night which involved walking for about and hour and a half into town with Adam. We met all our friends up the pubs for my first time. drunk people are so friendly.

day 111
111, kinda cool eh? Just wait until 222, you'll see my fingers bend in crazy ways! I worked 5 hours in the kitchen today, I was literally up to my elbows duck fat and floating prawn heads. yummy! understandably this photo is not of my face, because it is covered in a film of grease from work.

day 107
Do you know what is great about boxing day? there are no expectations. And you get to eat tiramasu for breakfast. This year I didnt get any tiramasu but I got to hang out with both my sisters and have a lovely day. On the way home we stopped for petrol and two guys fully checked us out. They werent even bashful enough to look away when we caught them. there was another car with three guys in it and then a bus and a third car pulled up with even more guys in it. There must have been at least eight 16-24 year old guys pass through this dicky little petrol station in the middle of nowhere, in the time it took us to get petrol.

day 106
Merry Christmas!
I like a christmas that involves a cute colombian boy who salsa dances, smells good and likes soccer. I threw into the conversation the possiblility of marriage and I think he thought I was joking. I wasn't.
This morning we had to wait for AGES for dad to come into the loungeroom so we could start opening presents. The presents were hidden under the towel beside me.

day 105
Road tripping to Melbourne on Christmas Eve! This photo was taken towards the end of the trip when things were getting pretty hysterical. Starring in this picture is Zoidberg and SallyBear. I would like to note at this point that we are *not* the type of girls to have stuffed toys in the car, yet somehow we do...

day 103
Notice something different about my face? I'd love to say that I don't care what anyone thinks but I definitely do. I hope peole like it. And if they dont then I hope they have the decency to lie.
The girl who did it let me choose which stud I wanted and then she accidentally pierced it with the wrong stud. I chose a pretty little sparkly one and instead I got a great hulking metal ball.

day 101
Mum: do I owe you money?
Cel: yes, you owe me $8. but Im getting a root canal tomorrow, so we'll call it even.
Mum: I feel like Ive been short changed...
There are *literally* swarms of mosquitos. on the wall where I was hitting, there was, no joke, 7 mozzies! and that was just that section of the wall. Mum and Dads room had >20 mozzies.

day 99
Today I am using my photo for something useful. My sister is chopping off all her dreads for charity. You can buy a dread for $50 (or cheaper if you are a student) (and on that note, more expensive if you are rolling in moolah.) all profits go to Asha India, an organisation against trafficking women in the sex industry. anyway, its a great cause and you all should buy a dread. To donate money you can:
Donate to JEM, make a note on the page where you finally click 'pay' in the 'special information' section that the money is for Asha India.
http://www.jem.org.au/getInvolved.html
- if you do this, please send Joss a copy of your receipt so she can confirm you've paid.

day 97
Christmas tree hunting!! the one time a year I can commit a felony and not feel guilty about it. this year our tree comprises of three branches. it was pretty funny getting the branches down. Joss pulled the branches down so they were taut and I had to jump up and down with the handsaw to reach them. we now have sawdust all through our hair and tops. the tree was pretty freaky looking: I think i did a pretty good job of mimicking it...

day 96
It is finally over. not just classes, not just exams, not just my ATAR. I now have my Victorian Certificate of Education. Who cares what my score was, I was part of the infintesimal percetage of teenagers in this world who have the opportunity, means and will to complete secondary education. (thats me in the middle.)

day 95
So we board the spirit of Tasmania all ready to take off when a most startling rumour begins to circulate the boat. There were 4 protestors who had repelled themselves halfway down the side of the ship and were holding up a sign that said "wood chipping the" and it was hung above the 'spirit of tasmania' on the side of the boat. get it? 'wood chipping the spirit of Tasmania.' the whole affair was pretty exciting, certain members of our band were cheering on the protesters.
day 94
75.6
*insert blatant shock shortly followed by waves of disappointment that can only inflict themselves when your enter score is ten points below the minimum you would be happy with*
I cried.
Then I read the letter that I wrote to myself about six months ago for this occasion. Of all the people who have tried to cheer me up to today, my past self has been the only successful person.
day 93
We played an epic game of volleyball at the caravan park today. There is nothing quite like watching Mr Roe shred it up on the volleyball court. I am so excited to get my score!! TOMORROW!! Seriously I haven’t slept properly In about three days.
day 92
He speaks! My up-the-back bus buddy has started talking to me; I strongly suspect this is due to his IPod running out of batteries. We had a great bonding session where he assessed the songs on my IPod and I emasculated him with my mad Rubik’s cube skills. Im still fairly intimidated by him so im realllly hoping he doesnt find this blog.
This photo features Matt. Despite appearances, I am not in love with him.

day 91
I find the most enjoyable way to play mini golf is to play real golf on a mini golf course. The result is a lot of scrambling around in bushes..
day 90
We played in Launceston for a bunch of primary school kids. After the concert they challenged us to a tug-o-war. It was best out of five:
1. we OWNED them
2. we had our asses handed to us
3. and again (it was getting humiliating)
4. we knew we were going to lose so we made a plan to count to five and then all let go of the rope at once. The plan was executed perfectly and the 40 primary school kids tumbled down like dominoes. Yes, I know we should pick on people our own age but they were beating us, and it was funny to watch.
5. we reigned supreme this round after they attempted to use our own trick on us.
On a completely different note: I am going to get married at Cataract gorge.
day 89
Ahoy me hearties. We rode on the spirit of Tasmania . The cabins were so tiny! The crossing was smooth, thank goodness. I get super travel sick.

day 88
Im not going to lie, I love me some Baileys. Although as I type this dad is giving me a lecture about not drinking until after Im 35. why? because apparently thats when you have established whether or not you have an addictive pesonality and are prone to alcoholism. Whatever, its homemade baileys and its yum.
I should warn, i am going on camp again so it'll be another week until i post. but there will be a photo for every day when i get back.

day 87
The river is so crazy at the moment. the rapids are NUTS. looks like swimming this summer is going to take some muscles.

day 86
I cant tell if taking a photo of myself everyday is increasing my self esteem or lowering it. i think its doing both at once. is that possible?
day 85
great news! yesterday I got a traineeship for next year, working at an outdoor education camp and studying outdoor and environmental studies during my gap year. pretty cool huh?
I couldnt decide on which photo to choose for today because there were so many. I got bored at home alone so I decided to take pictures in a wedding dress on the footy oval.

day 84
so uploading all my schoolies photos was challenging. My Blog and I are pretty good friends but sometimes it can be a real bitch. 11.55pm is when i really wish it would just co-operate.
day 82
this morning me, Danika, Jack, Hilly, Ivano and Shane went to the beach and watched the sun rise. It was so beautiful and peaceful. Im pretty much wrecked now from going to sleep at 6.30 am.
day 81
day 80
Nap time was interrupted again. We were almost going to go to sleep when matt and lozzie came bounding in and brought the option of sleep to an abrupt end.
day 79
We decided to drive to Queenscliffe today to check out the pier and do some shopping. It turns out that there is a music festival on this weekend so the place was absolutely pumping with music and a market. It was windier than a wind turbine farm though..
. . . . . . .
Oh my gosh!! My heart is beating at 200 beats a minute! So Iain and I were walking home from the other house together (as per the buddy system), when iain spotted a possum on the wire above us. I would like to note that I was pretty tightly wound because I didn’t feel that safe with only two people. so we were looking up at this possum walking along when out of the corner of my eye I saw a tall man who was following us. I screamed and grabbed iain. Iain, hearing my scream, swore quite loudly and grabbed me. It was just Hilly, but jeez I was scared! Im pretty sure my heart rate didn't drop for another half hour.
day 78
what a lazy day. I have always hated naps But apparently if you have a buddy to talk to whilst napping then it is super fun! Yet another reason why I should have been a twin.
day 77
sitting on the beach today I realised that this was what I have been waiting for ALL YEAR!
Tonight I semi participated in my first game of kings cup. It was pretty fun with one amusing incident with a back slap and a shot of absinthe.
day 76
First day of schoolies! The 4 hour drive felt like 1 hour with my awesome car buddy elise. Our super bad ass schoolies was kicked off with an epic game of Jenga. Daryl is officially the emperor of Jenga! (see the tower falling near my leg..)
